Indy21 has informed us that Master & Disciple will be patched on December 22nd. This shall bring many new quests that only Masters and Disciples can perform, so Masters start considering your disciples! We expect you to treat them correctly… which means a Shaolin Master will have his students helping others, whilst a Demon Master shall be conducting harsh training! The update also brings many special new Items that only Masters can bestow.
Also running this month is The Dark Hermit contest. This is an opportunity for three players who feel they are up to the task of becoming the ultimate mob in The Land to take the greatest prize ever offered. 12/09 - 12/13 Contest: RISE OF THE DARK HERMIT
Lord Mara has successfully created a doppelganger of The Hermit, known as Dark Hermit, who will likely become the ultimate killing Mob of The Land. Wielding a Sabre, he has all the power of The Hermit but will be bent on destruction.
Three players with a taste for evil shall control The Dark Hermit for a limited time. Players will register on the boards, level brand new characters, and compete to take control of The Dark Hermit… pitting him against The Hermit himself in the ultimate fight of Good vs. Evil. The Dark Hermit will have his own VGM minion, the power to slay anyone in his path, and even the ability to spawn True General Wei himself to do his bidding! And will the 9D Immortals be for him or against him? Woe is The Land, and great is our fear. Be afraid… be very afraid!
This Wednesday begins the registration for a brand new contest. Create a new 9D Character in The Land and level them up for one month, and one winner from each server with the highest level character will take control of that server’s Dark Hermit, and become the ultimate evil.
Create a new 9D character anytime during the above listed registration dates, and list that character’s name and server on the message board post to be eligible to win. Full contest rules will be posted there as well. Contest will run from 12/09/09 until 1/10/10 and the winners shall take possession of The Dark Hermit on 1/13/09.
9D Immortals - Update
Since the first 9D Immortals will have had their month-long run of carnage in The Land by the time The Dark Hermit arrives, and we would like 9D Immortals present to vow their allegiance to either The Hermit or Dark Hermit for the events to follow, it is so decreed...
Three Runners Up on The Rise Of The Dark Hermit Contest from each server shall lay claim to the next incarnation of the 9D Immortal Characters for the same time period as The Dark Hermit roams The Land!
That means 4 winners per server and 12 winners total!
Additional Rules for the second round of 9D Immortals may be posted, but all rules (including registration) shall remain the same as The Rise Of The Dark Hermit Contest!
Level well Warriors, and may the Seeds Of The Dragon within you (or the spirit of Lord Mara in some cases), guide your steel!

Collection Quest: "Will Work For EXP!"
Times are hard in The Land as an economic crisis looms. The Tax Collectors are falling on their own swords! So, Items must be collected to trade to foreign lands. So, The Imperial Emperor hereby decrees that a weekly Collection Quest shall be enacted until further notice. The Collection time will starts every Sunday and will finish next Friday at 00:00 hours (GMT in Bardo and PST in Asura and Nirvana) and it will be held in 2 sessions:
Sunday – Tuesday: First List
Wednesday – Friday: Second List
Black & White War
Bloody Plain was the location of the Final Duel of Nine Dragons and is considered sacred ground; however, the entire area remains seething with hostile energy. Great battles between Black and White Clan forces are often waged in Bloody Plain, and these battles are called Black and White Wars. Due to the destructive nature and history of this area, Bloody Plain is a PK Zone on every server and Black and White Wars will always be carried out there. While there is no level restriction to engage in combat in Bloody Plain or assist your fellow disciples, it is recommended that you have a fair amount of Kung Fu skill before taking part in the carnage. Although the rewards for winning a Black and White War are great, the corpses of too many novice disciples continue to litter these desolate grounds.

Lucky Cricket Event
Every Wednesday the Lucky Cricket visits The Land and sometimes he raises the XP Rate on all Servers and Maps, and sometimes he changes the Drop Rates or adds Server-wide Buffs to all Players. Just keep in mind that sometimes it may be an exceptional event... maybe 3X EXP for an hour, or two, or a Conqueror’s Buff, or more… but you just won't know unless you show up. Who knows what the Cricket will bring?
